Educational visits
Yottenfews Environmental Education Centre
The centre is based near our Sellafield site and covers eight acres of varied habitat including ponds, woodlands, hedgerows and rough and cultivated grasslands. The centre offers local primary school children the opportunity to carry out curriculum related activities.
An historic converted stone barn is used as a classroom and a smaller barn as the schools environmental laboratory. The Yottenfews centre provides facilities for the Beaver Experimental Activity Badge, Cub Scout Scientist Badge and the Brownie Wildlife Explorer Badge.
All visits must be pre-booked a week in advance. Free transport may be provided for schools in West Cumbria. To book a visit please contact our team on 019467 71787 or email yottenfews.environmental@sellafieldsites.com
